I supported the sales strategy by redirecting visitors to showrooms

Client: Wren Kitchen
Industry: Retail Furnitures
My Role: UX/UI Designer

Wren has sold kitchens for decades. Competition became stronger. So they expanded their product range and expertise to bedroom furniture as well.

To secure the sales, the strategy is to lead potential customers to sales representatives in their showroom.

Design and
development brief

The client wanted a lean process to meet tight deadlines and keep costs low while achieving high outcomes.

During my time on the project, the requirements included redefining the best user journey to highlight CTAs, ensuring the website was fully responsive, and reshaping the content strategy.

The challenge

The client was a strong advocate of lean processes, with little to no discovery phase or preliminary research. They often relied on competitor benchmarking as the main source of market insights. Additionally, the client wanted to closely monitor the project's progress, despite being based in Hull, North England. Besides inviting them in wireframes and design applications, I had to establish a fast line of communication to keep them updated regularly.

The process

I focused on collaboration

The client was keen on a lean process. He hired the agency because he wanted a quick approach with minimal steps. I worked with him in the same way. I understood that, as part of a small agency.

To ensure our communication remained easy, I created a Google Sheet that both the client and I updated frequently to keep each other informed about the design.

I designed wireframes that included breakpoint components with Axure.

Once the wireframes and the user journey approved by the client, I applied a visual design to the wireframes. I handed the design over to a front-end dev who built a staged website. I shared it with the client for approval during weekly show-and-tell sessions.

Success and learning

The traffic analytics showed that visitors were viewing more products, and there was an increase in the use of the contact form. Visitors also used the tools we created for them more frequently.

I learned that some projects require a straightforward process, and I learned to design with a limited ressources and timeframe.
