Design and
development brief
The client wanted my help to increase orders in physical shops while delivering an enhanced customer experience and maintaining inventory relevance.
I was required to ensure that the product met all technical limitations of wireless products, provided real-time data, and facilitated the use of the internal design system.
The challenge
The challenge was to take over from an external agency and quickly get up to speed with processes that had already been established. The design system consisted of raw components with no patterns or token definitions, which I needed to create from scratch. Additionally, the scope of the product changed; what began as a simple in-app tool pivoted to a CMS for creating in-app shop tools. This meant I had to accommodate changes in content and functionality.
The process

I created a user flow
I streamlined the process by creating user flow. I used them to validate the solution with developers, BAs, and the product team.
It also helped me improve the features for customer satisfaction and enhance future sales.

Wireframes
Creating wireframes helped me validate the solution with the extended team. It also assisted in defining the components for the developers to build or modify.
This process was essential for listing and mapping the components that needed to be integrated into the design system. Additionally, it facilitated discussions about creating or tweaking existing components and patterns.


Success and learning
The application was released after my tenure at the shops. The outcomes have been positive, as it provided an enhanced customer experience, boosting sales in physical stores.
I learned to design for a real-time application that requires immediate answers to each service request. I focused on the right features and a fast-loading application.
